i dont get this am kinda lost here i got this guy saying he add his xc setup for drag races hes trying to sell me a few parts but i dont get IT

i my self stock track is 121" i wana extend it for drags for a better traction and other issuse this will solve i wana go 136"

but this guy says he got a 54 pitch race track but its 120" with 8"wheels and and drivers (sprokets )

that now means hes shortning the track of a 1" why would u wana shorten instead of extending is my question

thanks
erik
It takes more power to spin a longer track. More weight, more drag on the skid.
hempman181
i understand its heavier but if u got the power to pull it it shount be a prob

my problem is i spin to much and machine goes right up and pulls to the one side witch makes me pull off throtle or eles i flip it

so i was thinking going longer less studs slap 8" or 10" wheels this will give me more traction help keep it down and hopefully keep straight wen i take off

A shorter track will transfer weight better than a long track.

54 pitch track? do you mean 54 lug track? If so it's probably a 136" if it's a 2.52 pitch track.

Depends on what exactly you want to get into with drag racing. Longer track will give you better hood up and the sled will stay flatter. If your only running a stock motor at the mid 100hp range or less you shouldn't need anything longer than a 121 unless you have transfer issues. You don't need much transfer if your running grass or ice.

Basically it comes down to this...
1. Is this sled your trail sled also? Or race sled only?
2. What classes do you plan on running?
3. What's done to the sled currently?
4. What do you plan on running on, snow, grass or ice?

Sounds to me like he's got alot more than 100 hp, i think he needs to buy a .5 (half Inch lug track) X 136
. also when your sled wants to turn either to the left or to the right you need to adjust your track, example if it's turning to the left! either need to tighten the left side rear idler adjustment bolt to a tighter position or loosen the right side, or something like that!!

Good luck my friend
