I am currently getting 13mpg(cdn) 10 mpg(US) at low speed 20-30 mph, and 15 mpg(cdn) 12mpg(us) at 40-50 mph.
because most of my riding is done in Northern Ontario where gas is hard to find I am trying to improve my mileage.
The following has been suggested
1) Pilot Jets - change from 50-44
2) Drive Clutch - change from 7042083 to 7041781
3) Driven Clutch - change from 7043058 to 7043059
What experience has anybody had with this change?
What effect has it had on 1) Speed 2) Fuel Mileage

Whoa I'd like to be in your boat! I have an 06 Dragon and range from 5 to 9 miles per gallon US. No way to squeeze any better either. Pilots are 45's and mains are 390's now. Thinking it must be geared to low or something because the thing flys to 60 mph then slowly tops out at 85 mph.
I had the timing advanced to max setting, and oil pump set-up (way to high from factory). TPS was corrected to I think. Clutch alignment and belt deflection were off a bit and corrected. All this helped a bit, but still have issue above. Gearing to be checked next week. Compression is fine.
