Make sure you have all five bolts removed that hold the chaincase cover on. The lower ones are very hard to see, and loosen.

You will need to release the tension on the shifting fork, so they will slide off the grooves in the reverse gear, when removing the cover.

The reverse gear is bolted to the driveshaft thru a spring loaded coupler, it will not come off until that bolt is removed.

Look in the Polaris Online Parts catalog linked in the FAQ on the FST forum, and become familiar with the parts in the chaincase on your sled.

thanks a lot for your help. now i would like to know how you would proceed to remove tension on the fork, i can turn it a little bit ( like when you pull the reverse arm) or i can pry it ( like if i want to remove it ( It move arround 1 or 2 inches but is stopped by the foot rest)). also the chaincase cover is limited on its movement by the exhaust support so do i need to remove the exhaust support?

i know... thats is a lot of questions!! but your help is verry appreciated!!!
