ive noticed some guys racing with no chain case cover witch to me makes alote of sense but how long can u keep yer chain not (LUBED) no oil would a spray can oil be good for this i mean am only running 660ft @ most @ a time it would be less weight and it go alote quicker to change gears WAT do u THINK

Your dopping the weight of the cover yes. You can do it, but when storing the sled I'd soak the chain and maybe even the gears in oil and then when you are getting ready for race day, let it sit in a clean place to let the excess oil drain off and then slap it on there and put something over the whole thing like a plastic sheet to keep moisture out until you are ready to race.

What he said... like you said its only 660 so it shouldnt be an issue its just going to wear out faster. I have also seen people make lexane covers which save weight.. really shouldnt be an issure thoug there its more an access issue.

i think taking the chain case cover off is pointless. its not that heavy.

well cr its extra weight i dont need and alote less trouble if u wana change a gear between runs thats for sure
