All right, here's the problem. I've just finished installing a new (to me) track and x-tra 12 suspension on my sled. Looks good BUT........when the suspension tries to compress, the track tightens up and does NOT allow it to do so. In turn, my x-tra 12 only has 2 inches of travel. The sled did not originally come with the proper mounting holes so I was forced to approximate their location. Any tips on finding their proper locations or might there be another problem I just don't see? Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated as we are already half way through the season.

The mounting location of both arms is critical. The geometry must be correct for the skid to work. Approximating the locations would be just rolling the dice and seeing if you hit. Your going to need dimensions from your driveshaft to the mounting holes locations of both arms.

The most critical measurement is the distance between the front mounting holes and the rear mounting holes. This should be 23 3/4".

Just an update. I found the problem being as simple as sitting down and thinking about how the suspension sat unloaded on the floor compared to when it was in the sled. I determined(after many hours/swears) that the skid sat 3inches higher when unloaded on the floor. I simply preloaded the suspension to a height of 12inches, marked my holes and installed. Suspension works perfectly.
