well i got my uncles 136" 1.75 track for free sens he bought a 151" for his rmk..

i have a few questions, i really like the SLP rail and tunnel extensions but they are a bit costly (260 for EVERYTHING i could prossibley need)

and dose polaris make the same parts, im sure they do, but would they be any cheaper?

which would be more resistent to buckling? id sure hate to land on my rear end and crumple a brand new extended tunnle peace!

and one more, kind of pointless, now with my xc700 being a 136" is it execly what a SKS is for the most part?

went to the polaris shop i have everything but my rail extensions, those will be in wensday.

already ripped it all apart put the 136" on and i put the chain case and everything back together.

went off and got a pipe and can off a friends 99 xc700 that he had laying around, i thought my sled was on the verge of catching a ring but it was just a hole in my can from my pipe be bent to the side.

i put 2" suspension drop brackets on too so i would have more clearence with the paddles.

got some makuni rebuild kit or somthing with fiber screens for my fuel pump kuz the plastic screens has small cracks in them and was letting crazy fuel threw (i ran out of gas, then put 2 gall in and still ran out again before the other 700's did)

ill remember to take my cam with me next time i go work on my sled.

BOY dose this sled rip with a camoplast challenger track, i was rippin around and my uncle got his 99 rmk 700 156 stuck ( he musta found a bushy spot or somthing) and i just went blowin by im lovin it! when his rmk was a 136" it couldnt make it up this crazy steep hill thats like 2000 feet tall and probley a 70 degree angle and my sled WFO all the way did probley 5mph but it just keeps on goin! only time i got stuck was when i hit a straight up and down cliff thing and my front end dug in. man i love havin a 136" but it dose kind of kick my ass int he bumps.

i tryed getting pics this weekend but my cam went dead

Just reading some of the older files and came across this one. Did you have to do any mods to the front heat exchanger or change the size of the drivers to get the 1.75inch track on? I've got a wedge with a 144" 1.25" track and there doesn't appear to be enough room for a 1.75" lug. Hopefully you read this and respond. THNX....... dry.gif

No the 1.75 track fit just fine, I did no changes to the front heat exchanger. i want to get a 136/2 track some time this winter.. if I get one i'll post a write up if it fits too.

whats year is your rmk?

I hung a 136 x 1 3/4 under my 1997 SKS 700. It fit awesome all I had to do is drop the rear suspension mounts from the top to the bottom mounting locations. I don't believe that my 1998 Xc 700 has rear lower mounting locations so I am guessing CRdude you must of added some. I didn't drop at first and the lugs hit bad on the tunnel strips. Also I am guessing that the SKS version will have different gearing than the XCX700 as well. I know a 2 inch track will fit my sled with no problem but here in Michigan that is a kinda tall lug.
We went boondocking and power line riding in 2 foot of powder last weekend and what a machine. Complete different sled than my xc700. Very hard to get stuck with that kind of power and track. At least in the flats. My only complaint is turning the thing around in the trails. I think I will just stay off the trails with this one.
And I thought my 1998 XCR440 was fun to ride.

I did add 2 or 3" drop brackets in the rear and the front is now mounted about 1" lower then stock, with plenty of room to put a 2" lug under it. then again I have the rmk coolent system so there arnt any heat exchangers in the way.
Only thing is, should i have re-clutched my sled? I was running an almond sping and I cant remember what kind of weights I used.. but recintly the crome on the shaft of the clutch is starting to peal off and my sled seems to be lacking some power... like it wont rev over 7,400 usually.. but at other times ir his 8,000+ easly.. it not slow by anymeans, i still smoke an 02 700 like its standing still (not really smoke them, but I still win in a drag tongue.gif ) its time for a whole new clutch as far as I can tell, just trying to figure out what kind of set up I want to run.

I thought about regearing, but my sled already had the same gearing as a 99 rmk so I figure it will work just fine.

I must say, i have rode everything from a 340 colt to an 600ho rmk and just about everything inbetween, the most fun I have ever had on a sled was on this 98 xc700 with the 136"

while I had my sled nearly complealy pulled apart, I seriously considerd parting my sled out and saving the engine to drop into a pro x chassi, but now that its all back together I remember why I would never do that biggrin.gif I love having an older sled and smoking people on there brand new sleds in the trails... and then when we come up to a hill the sled will wheelie all the way up while every one els on there edges (all 7-800's) are stuck half way up it.. just a great feeling lol.
