Hello !

I'm looking for every sort of information about the POLARIS IQ-440 Race sled

I have looked around att the Internet but I can't find much.

A friend of mine is planning to buy one and modify it to a Trail sled with a bigger motor in it.....

* 660 based on the 440 Engine
* 600 HO Liberty
* 800 HO Liberty

But were to find parts and so on for it ?
SINGLE pipe for it ?
Bigger Gas Tank ?
What about modify the cooling system for trail use ?
Does it need Oil Injection ?

Every sort of information is welcome !!!

Best regards // Lasse.

whoops the top was a mistake

we got an 05 and an 06 and heres what i no

witht he 440 motor the most horse is made with the stock ceramic pipe twins will hurt h.p.

twins are availible for the 800 and 600 motors slp and ive heard of aaen silencers being used

ive seen home made aluminum gas tanks for them that hold 11 gallons on ebay theres 8 gallon plastic tanks for 510 u.s. buy it now at race school polaris talked about makin bigger tanks alaible for them nto sure

ive also heard the rmk fusion tanks fit but dont mate up to the shroud well

im pretty sure the cooling system is fine rarely have i heard of poalris's gettin too hot even the race sleds

premixing fuel with the pump gas haed installed is fine i think oil injestion woudl be tricky to hook up on one of these sleds never tried it before

polaris also ses that if you put the pump gas head on you shoudl put different clutch weights in it that they provide in there trail kits for the old edge chassis race sleds

slightly taller windsheilds are availible threw sportech

we get our parts through polaris racing but dealers can also get them most dealers get confused if they cant fitn it on there micro film tho find someoen that nos somethign behind the counter , current year race sleds part numbers will nto show up in there computer as well form past experience but a few weeks ago we ran a part number off our 05 and it register on there program

i cant think of anything else but if you have more questions contact me at Badass77Bowtie@aol.com

i also have a 2004 pro xr 440 for sale if anyoen is interested

end of the season the 06 iq will be as well after march 26th

hope that helps ya!

You should check with your local dealer (if they race) and see if they have a 600 IQ race sled, I don't know if they if they run the 600 all accrost the country or not, but around here the use the same 600 that the fusion uses (only for the open class).

that "600 iq race sled" you talk about is not trail friendly 110-114 octane easy 150 horse not a stock 600 by any means.. odds of a state side dealer having one 1 ina 1000 odds of a dealer havin one across seas 1 ina million the only way to get this iq 600 is to build one. polaris sells roller chassis less the 440 motor to teams for mods you then can buy there mod motor set up wiht pipes and all that and put it together yourself or supply your own motor and still put it together yourself the best bet is to use the 440 they make roughly 110 horese re gear it so its got some more top end and still pull 700's my 06 takes my bros 02 xc 700 sp with studs and twins and it runs dead even with mxz 800's deck out so dont under estimate a little 440.......
Killadelphia700
Your right, that 600 isn't trail friendly, but is still a nice sled, they have 2-3 of them down at my local dealer...They dyno tested them and they have 154 horse.

Btw, I NEVER said they were stock 600's...I just said they used the same motor as the Fusion uses...it's just modded.
John_Deere_Polaris_440
hey ask youor dealer what there askin for one of them iq mods would ya thanks
Killadelphia700
I will, but I'm sure they will wan't 7k-8k for one. The 440 IQ racing sled last year was 6.8k.
John_Deere_Polaris_440
if they only want 7-8 g's let me no... i might have to get a mod then
Killadelphia700
You can get a rolling chassis for 4.6k.
John_Deere_Polaris_440
same as my racer price no help thansk anyhow... how much for the mod motors?
