My son has a 2002 pro x 440 fan and when the machine gets warm, the snowmobile seems to run rich and won't take off. I've backed out the air screw a turn and a half, lowered the needles one notch, still having issues. I was told by a Polaris dealer that 2002's had bad pistons and was told to install 2003 pistons. Any suggestions

I had one of those back in 2002 and had the same problem all the time running in warmer weather in michigan. We put a holtzman tempa flow on, this regulates the fuel to air mixture by adjusting your carb float with air density and can compensate for when it gets warmer, it worked well for us and the sled ran 100% better in warm weather.

be careful if you do jet it down a few that you jet it back up when the temps change back or you will cook the motor it is a very sensitive motor i just traded mine off after having the same problems
