Was wondering if the skid from a xc10, say 96-99 era would fit in my 89 Indy 400? Would I have to relocate the mounting plates? Can I increase the front end travel by replacing the tie rods & radius rods? Will I have to change the trailing arms? Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

do you mean a xtra 10? than yes you will have to relocate the holes not hard to do just drill through your tunnel and bolt in... http://www.off-road.com/snowmobile/project/indy/indyprj.html
find the Xtra 10 update along with many other great upgrades...

if you change our radius rods and tie rods you would need a longer shock im sure, you might want a new trailing arm so the geomatry of the front suspension dosnt get all wacky, like sit real high and have a real narrow ski stance.

Thanks. That site has some good info. Will have to study that one for sure. I knew I wasn't alone in this quest!
