I use my new 07 IQ Touring 600 for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and the rear handle bar warmers only heat up about 2" up the grip, after an hour on the trail. Not good! I called the dealership where a purchase the new machine, and was told to alternate the front and back warmers and that should work. It's a comon problem. I couldn't find that operation in the manual. Shame on Ken's Sports Center WI.

I then called G&G Muskego Wi. and they were very helpful.
They said the electrical system may cut out the rear warmers if there is a problem. I have voltage at the rear plugs, 13VDC and 7 ohms on each set of coils. Please help!

Turn off all your electrical accessories, including the driver handlebar and thumbwarmers.

Start the sled up, and turn on the passenger grip warmers. See how quickly they heat up. If they don't heat up fairly quickly, you have a problem in that circuit or in the switch. Also see if the taillights and brakelight seem dim.

Check all the connectors under the seat area if necessary, especially the white plastic connectors for the passenger grips themselves.

Thank you ExcursionPSD! the sled is in Tomahawk Wi., I am headed up there this weekend hopefully to put on a few miles. I did check the two white connectors (3 conductor) and they seem OK. I will check for dimming which should be a current draw some place else like the warmmers, I think. Regards!

Ok, This past weekend I turn off the front/rear hand warmers ( that's all I have for accessories). Then I watched the tail/head lights for dimming after each set of hand warmers were turned on, and the lights do not dim. I then ran only the rear warmers for 20 minutes on the trail and they were cold! There is still power at the white plugs! Please help... Thanks..

You'll need to get the seat off and find the fault in the wiring. One hot wire carries the power for the taillights brakelights and handlebar warmers. Try having just one passenger hand warmer plugged in at a time. You may have a fault with the rocker switch. You need power and ground at those white plugs for the hand warmers to work.
