overheating, 37 miles and sled has overheated 3 times ,..follow bleed proceedure in owners manual to the letter and it still overheats lifting the rad cap spring and overflowing the overflow bottle.
Coolant line too close to the muffler is melting
Chaincase gear pops out at 70 mph,
Fuel gage calibration way off
Starter gear recall/ parts just came in to dealer today 12/30/06
Lots of problems and am very disappointed in polaris

I didn't receive my FST until after christmas because of the starter gear. Only got a chance to ride 7o miles. I can't go over 45 mph because of the gear poping out. My dealer put a spacer in to keep gear engaged but can't use reverse. I sold my Artic Cat with 4500 miles for this. Hope I didn't make a mistake. How is mileage I was only getting 9 to 10 miles per gallon.

I had no issues with overheating. Sled ran at 160 to 170 degrees on the trails. Ran on a road where the temp climbed to 178 but that was the highest

I recently purchased a holdover FST Classic. My dealer just sent me a bulletin from Polaris, citing various problems discussed here which are being worked on. Among them are poor fuel mileage, plug fowling, and hard starting in cold temps. These are being addressed by adjusting ignition and fuel mapping. Our 2006 models can be adjusted to the 2007 specs in August at the dealer. Also, an engine block heater will be made available.
My big worry is a stated issue in the bulletin of rising oil levels, from gas getting into the oil. Polaris thinks it is from inconsistent operating temps. No fix yet, they are still working on it.
I haven't ridden the sled at all yet; this bulletin really has me worried. I've always ridden Cat and Doo, I hope I haven't made a big and expensive mistake. The way Polaris trashed Cat in an ad 2 years ago for Firecat service bulletins, they should be making sure they are putting out a quality product themselves.
