2001 500 XCSP rated at 108 hp compared to the 2001 600 xcsp at 118 hp. (info came out of sled mag doing dyno testing, where it was considered to be 110 and 120 for the 600 respectively) sorry can't help ya out with the accel ?, I run mine stock. J.

105 hp, the motor is already dialed in pretty well, even better than some of the later build 500's. A few things that will help is to make sure your oil pump is set correctly, 2000's were shipped out with the pumps set way to high. Jet down to 400's they will be safe in all conditions. For clutching go with a almond/blue primary spring from polaris and a hot seat hsp34x helix with the stock spring. I also run 56g weights in mine and like the performance. Tighten the blue caps on the VES all the way in, then 2 detents out. Also make sure the VES guillotines are cleaned. If you have any other questions just ask me, i've played around with this motor quite a bit.
