Well, I am a very satisfied polaris rider and will only see myself ride for polaris. I have been riding for 6 years now and have only had polaris. I started out with a 99 indy 500, nice starter sled I guess, lacked the balls and cornering so... I ended up with a 2002 500 xcsp a few years later and that was a nice sled. I loved it, lots of power for a 500 and IMO the best looking XCSP model polaris has made so far. My dad has always had XCRs and I dont know how many radar runs he would win but they are fast sleds. My current sled is a 98 XCR 700 and my fav sled I have owned so far, and from the looks of it, my fav sled I will ever own unless I go to another company. I dont like the fusions, I think they are ugly, they look really heavy (this coming from an xcr owner) and they are slow. I beat many 900 fusions last year with my 700 triple triple. I cant see why polaris would stop making XCRs and pretty much cut xcsps from their sleds to replace them with fusions??? When I crack my throttle, I want a fast responce and I get everything I expect from my XCR because its a beefy sled, and they have the nicest sound ever and thats why fully stock exhaust. So.... what do fusions have??? well they finally got rid of those trailing arms, which is a good thing, got rid of triples?? well thats just a XCSP, and they packed on the pounds!, for what? comfort? if you want comfort then throw a back rest on and there you go. With the options of the XCR and XCSP, customers were able to pick out the sled they truely desired. Could go with a light xcsp twin with a fairly fast 800, and the option of getting m10 suspension put in which is a prefect ride.... or for the true power lovers, go with the xcr which has the power to beat all artic cats, and have a close race with ski doos( i dont know if it could take thier 1000 mach z). I know many polaris owners that have put a lot of thought into converting to skidoo because they still produce powerful triples. What do you guys think??? lets here some more opinions going either for the xcrs and xcsps or the fusions. Maybe with more opinions on here, I will be able to see why polaris has done this, but untill then Im blind.

You obviously haven't ridden an IQ based sled yet. I encourage you to get out on one.
It makes your XCR 700 look as if it rides like a sled from the 1970's. No, a backrest cannot fix all these issues either.
What triple does Ski-Doo produce?? NOTHING
The IQ chassis provides a much more stable, comfortable, and controlable ride. It doesn't fatique riders like the old chassis. It is built to fit a variety of riding styles and people. If you haven't ridden one, you honestly do not realize how much better they are....and I come from a Pro-X chassis last year, up until the IQ, the most advanced Polaris offered. The IQ absolutly blows the doors off of the Pro-X chassis.
If you're hung up on looks, that's fine. It's all your opinion. I like the looks. You cannot deny the fact that they are 10 times the sled to ride after riding one though. The ergonomics of the whole package are key here. The old chassis just did not provide this. Ask anyone who has ridden or owns an IQ chassis, they will agree 100% with me.

All i can say is that after riding my fusions and than jumping on the wifes edge, it just doesnt feel right. The edge which i use to think was the bomb, just seems tiny and seems to me half the sled. If you have not tried a fusion, you should, and you would see what i mean. The ride is a dream. As for looks well i like a nice display to look at it. Withthe fusion no more reading the gas level from the cap. I love the multi fuction display that the fusion is equipped with. The only thing i regret about my fusion, is that it doesnt have a 1.25 ripsaw on it. And as for the triples. well i just got rid of one. Yes lots of power(mach z 800 triple triple) but i told myself never again would i own a triple. And to be truthfully honest i think the fusion 600 will run with any sled out there, maybe not top end, but im not a hugh lake runner so this sled is perfect fo me.

you have to rember that the fusions are a new design and they arent perfect give polaris a little time to perfect them im sure when the xcrs came out they had bugs to. And besides how can you say all this stuff if you have never ridden one?

erick hits it right on the head. my friend won't ride my fusion because he says he doesn't want to be spoiled by the ride and have to go buy one. he owns a 2002 xc600sp. I liked my triumph alot, smooth power, but i'm glad i bought a fusion. you just gotta ride one!!!!

idk about the xcr's...they looked funny... there heavy... i mean.. your sleds like 70 pounds heavy then my 98 xc700... and the fusion 600 is even lighter then my sled by like 10 pounds... and with the suspension improvments...there bound to blow the dores off your heavy triple

I've had:
1990 Arctic Cat Jag 440
1994 Polaris Indy 440
1996 Polaris XCR 440 SP
1998 Polaris XCR 440 SP
2003 Polaris Pro X 600
and I now have a 2006 Polaris Fusion 600 H.O.
All those other sleds I owned combined into one cannot even come close to how this Fusion is. The power, the comfort and the flexibility are impossible to find anywhere else. I've had two XCR's, the '98 was pretty awesome but saying it even comes close to this Fusion is just a joke.
If you haven't ridden one, go ride one. Yes they aren't the prettiest sleds, but I've grown to love the way mine looks, I'll stare at it for probably 10 minutes tonight before I go to bed, that's how much I love it.

Well, Im liking all the positive feed back on the fusion and Ill have to give it a shot when I get the chance. I still feel that XCRs have more power though, and will need to be beat by one to believe it. I beat last years 900 so lets see about this years.

The Fusion is perfectly even in power with my 98 700 twin, and thats with it not broken in. The dealer said its going to be faster after its broken in and they inspect+rejet it at 500mis. (it's only got 60mis. on it). At my local dealer they dyno tested a few out of the box, and the most they got was 123horse.
I tried my brothers and the ride is soo smooth, I jumped my sled and then jumped the Fusion off the same bank, and didn't really feel the landing, unlike mine. My brother also doesn't feel the bumps on the trail like I do...nor does he feel so sore the next day, lol.
The Fusion may have a weak/high pitched sound to it (atleast weaker than my bigblock 700), but trust me, it's not weak at all.
So Heffy, try to test out a Fusion at your local dealer. Trust me, you'll be sold.
Btw, I've found that the perfect setting for the handlebars is at the #5 notch, when it's at 6 you can't turn the handlebars all the way to the right or the brake lever hits the windsheild.

i have a 600 ho swb & fst 750 swb, there just great to ride, these new sleds will set the way for a long time to come, for the way sleds are build, it took polaris a while to come out with new sleds, but they have some real winners on there hands now!!!! just ride one, you'll own one or two!!!!!
