My first post.Gotta' says this is one kicka$$ site.Found you all through HCS by way of SF.com.Fairly new to the sport.Started off with a '77 AC Panther in mint condtion 4 yrs ago.Ran like a bat(70 mph),but crashed too many times tryin' to keep up with my wife's and brother-in-law's new Revs.Dang near beat me to death,even with new suspension parts in(mostly ditchbangin').Told my wife I wasn't goin' to give up my bike(Buell) to buy a six to seven thousand dollar sled.Wanted new 'cause it's hard to find a trustworthy sled in the Cleveland,OH area(no market here).Found this new '01 500 XCSP at the closest dealer a couple of years ago for real cheap and got to a mutual agreement with my better half that my baby didn't hafta go..Love it so far as performance is concerned.I can keep their 600 Revs in site now.That's all I was lookin' for.Great ride at least compared to the ole Panther.
Found the coolant sensor prob right away.$30 new part(went just after the warranty crapped out).Been good as new(guess it is with only 600 mi. on it).
My only problem now is with me old body still.OEM seat is just too low for my knees to take.Been searchin' through everyones old archives but can't seem to find a string relating to the edge chassis seat replacement,'cept for the mention of a ProX seat.Seen pics of that but it doesn't look any taller or narrower than the stock seat.I noticed that the '06 edge has a seat that looks raised and has a different rear tailight config(looks almost Rev- like)Anyone know if it'll fit an '01?Looks like the gas tank has a different inlay where the seat butts up to it.Is there a comfortable aftermarket seat that would work?

You should look at seat riser they raise the height of your seat a little. you can purchase one at www.denniskirk.com they only cost like 140 dollers and i think you get another taillight to.

I took a look at them.Strange,it doesn't list my sled as an application but it does list an '01 600XCSP which I think are basically the same platform.Gonna' call 'em tomorrow and find out for sure.Says it adds more storage space too which would be a good thing.Like the looks of the Pro X seat though.Have seen the seat on other XCSP's but haven't been able to get a hold of those to see what a job it is.

I believe Captain Toyota on HCS and SF has a Pro-X seat on his 01 Edge XC SP , try searching or sending him a PM.

Spark, I would go with a Pro-x seat if you can. they look great and I'm pretty sure they sit higher. e-bay would probably be the best place to pick one up

You can get the X2 seat, which isn't as high as the Xr seat. Or you could quit messing around with those crappy things and get a Boss hi-rise. You'll never go back to a Poo barstool seat again. I had the X2 seat. My Boss is so much nicer...
