I have an 01 800xcsp, it seems to be extremely sensitive to temp changes more then,
elevation changes, I ride in the mountains in SW washington. Elevation changes from
2600 ft to maybe 4500 feet, however I seen 15 degree temp swings and really
causes problems at the same elevation level. I currently am jetted to the manf, spec of 10 to 40
degrees and 3000 to 6000 feet. I pulled the plugs and they have a nice tan burn color to them,
from what I under stand that identifies it is the correct air /fuel mixture. At low RPMs no matter
which elevation/temp the motor pops, I am thinking I need to do something with the pilot jet
setting, how ever I have not found any real guide lines. Would a Dial Jet kit be worth the
money, or is there bolt on pressure/temp compensation kit or EFI unit conversion kit
Any input will be appreciated

The best thing you could do is ad the Holtzman ATACC. This compesates for both elevation, and temperature. Once you jet for the highest elevation, and the lowest temp, it all atomatic after that.

I have a tempa flow on my 2004 800 XC and love it. I went with the tempa flow instead of the ATACC because I doen't ride in a lot of different elevations.
