the 97-98 XCR 440s are probably my all time favorite sled

This is my "race" sled. It was back in 97-99 season. It is a 97 xcr 440. It has no numbers on the tunnel just XXXXXXXXX's
The head is silver not red like the 98's. Some of the 97's engines were returned to dealer and updated to 98's Mine was not. So it may be rare as only 500 of them were produced for the 97-98 race season.

haha! how fast is that in a 660' race? my guess is 10 min. or how fast you can run. i agree that xcr 440 is sweet!

I was talking with our new Polaris rep, and this guy blew a huge secret. Apparently Polaris already has a new chassis ready for racing next year. I've heard that the 2007 polaris sleds will be available in the 440 IQ Chassis through snowcheck only. He made me promise not to tell, but w/e! This is huge, I can't wait till Febuary's test drive dealer meeting. I also heard that all sleds will be moving to EFI's next year, and that the 440 engine size will be available in a trail ready package, equiped with oil resevoir, and trail gas headers.

Can't wait!!!

my mom drives a '97 xcf. on the tunnel the vin # is missing. no evedence of one being there ether. this sled is awsome and rides like a dream. i belive it was sceduled to be a race sled and we got it.

Old.............I was going to 136" it and put a 660 kit in but then along came the next best thing.

New....

I had a 96 XCR 440 SP, 97 XC 440, and 98 XCR 440 and I will admit those were some of the best trail sleds I have ridden. They weren't "FAST" but they definitely were sneaky fast on the trails. I put 3500 miles on my 96 in that season and it was an awesome sled for what it was.

well liek i sed then polaris dint have a new race chassis the 07 is same as 06 but lower, wider, renforced and piddly bullshit and ive yet to see the trail ready 440 package you talk of with oil injection if i missed somethign lemme no....

reps are bullshitters dotn believe nothing till ya hear it outa the wauasa or roeso race departments at polaris

hey there, have u guys see or hear about 800 or 900cc mod put in 440 IQ?? if so how does it run? the last time I talk to a guy about 800cc he put in... he didnt want to talk about it or open the hood .. I am thinking about getting one and make it 136 track with 800..... my plms is, will any BMP pipe will fit IQ? any help will be cool...

my 2006 iq stocker my brothers friend trusted me to take his son around the track, now the little guy wants a race sled

here are my 2 race sleds the one is a 03/04 proxr w/ 726 mod motor, that would be the water-x sled and the other a 07 IQ 726 which is my hill-x sled.
