I dont have one, nor have I ridden one, but my dealer and his wife have. According to them, its very comparable to a 700 XC.
I dont think it will quite have the power of your 800, but I think it will compare very well to your 700.
Ive seen dyno charts for the FST's engine and it produces peak torque at 5,000 rpm which makes it perfect for a trail sled.

It's the 6th of December and still no FST Classics in NE North Dakota. It's really a shame when you give a company money down 8 months prior to build the sled you want and they can't deliver.
The product that Polaris should deliver has always been good. Almost always (Storm and '05 900's????)
I'm just hoping after this long wait this unit will be super. We've had rideable snow for almost 3 weeks and with no new four stroke to play with....well you know.
WAITING in North Dakota........................................

talked to the dealer again and he said that the sled should be in on wed. i am going to try and pick it up thur or friday suposed to ride on sat. my friend went to another dealer didn't snow chack one and he is suposed to get it on mon or tuesday. funny how that works. groomers are out in our area rolling and the ttrails open tommorow. had a friend go to the dealer and tried the 700 fusion. he couldn't belive how much it vibrated and does not want one anymore. he said heis going to wait to try fst out.
lets all pray for more snow.
anybody riden the fst yet and if so what do you think.
the dealer told me that one guy rode in canada and was claiming to get 19 mpg. that would be great but the mags are saying 15.5 witch would be good too. but it neads to get atleast that with the small tank that it has.

The dealer here in town just got theirs on friday. It must be a decent sled. Well they were saying to couldnt wait to get them to try them out and figured they would sell alot of them. I think there is a post in the general forum where someone has ridden one already.
Oh sorry the post is a fst switchback. here is the link if ya wish to look at it.

my friend picked his up yeterday and we went up too take it for a spin. The sled was very smooth. smoothest i've ever riden. realy does have good power. we got it up to 86 and ran out of field. probably 2 football field. then we put it in the garage and you could have a conversation while it was running with no yelen. sounds like a street bike at idle nothing to radical though. mines in and there studing it today. picking it up friday morning. riding that night and satursday. now trying his i really can't wait. i'm impessed we will see if there's any issues.

I picked mine up today. only have a couple miles on it but it pulls real strong, is smooth and am impressed so far. Anyone measure fuel mileage or accuracy of the gauge?

Is 15 or 20 mpg all the fourstrokes are getting? i cant believe that four strokes dirtbikes get at least 40.

I got my FST classic last Wednesday and took it out for 70 miles on Friday night. Thing pulled really strong but i did have the "slipping" problem at least once that night. I got it up to 87 and then let off cause i was running out of road....it had plenty left
I got about 13 to 14 MPG but that was my first tank and i was on the throtte quite a bit. I'm betting on a long relaxed trail run i'd get way better than that. Also should get better once the sled is run a little more. The gas gauge came on at 45 miles and said i was on "E". After 70 miles i loaded it up and filled it on the way home. It took 5.5 gallons so i had almost 4 gallons left at the end of the night. Obviously the gas guage is way inaccurate. I'll need to address that. Overall i'd say this sled will be awesome once a couple bugs are worked out.

A guy i know was saying he was getting around 23 MPG taking it easy. When on the throttle around 10. And sme problem with the fuel guage. Once they get the kinks ironed out i think this is going to be a really nice sled.

went to pick mine up friday. took it for a ride around the dealer. it went realy good the first couple of laps. then it lost power and i could hear a strange noise. the dealer hooked it up to the computer and he said that eather the wast gate or the turbo was malfunctioning. while i was there two other fst's came back with the gear issue. so they had to put in a spacer to hold the gear in place. and now they have no reverse. this was a temp. fix for now untile polaris comes up with the correct fix.
went for a ride on saturday with my 800 clasic and friend with an fst. we lined up three times and he pulled away three times. pulled up on him going down the rail bed doing 75-80 i had it floored when he saw my sky he hit it and pulled away no problem. my 800 was not runing good. 7300 rpm. on top.
he gat 10.5 mpg it was 40 and he wasn't nice to it first tank only 50 miles gauge was at 1/4. we had to turn around as his gear started to slip too. he gat his sled from another dealer and they also shimmed the gear.
it is going to be an awsome sled once the bugs are gone. it pulls, it corners, and it rides awsome. hopefully i will get mine back soon. waiting patintly for the gear fix to heavy to throw around.

Received fst classic 12/24/05, all the local snow already gone, more snow on 1/2/06 and rode 6 miles, then started jumping out of gear. Back to the dealer with only 10 miles for the bushing to lock in forward, no reverse. Back from dealer on 1/6/06, polaris will update when they figure it out. Off to Quebec on 1/15/06. Gas gage flashing at 50 miles, filled up and it took approx. 4.5 gal (18 liters), ran into 3 others, same sled, same problem, and they told me about another issue, problems starting in cold temps and something to do with the injecters. I was in a heated garage so this didn't happen to me, they also told me my sled should go about 100 miles on a tank, but this is not a good feeling not knowing so i though a gas can on my rear rack. Gas stops in Quebec can be a 100 miles between stops and the owners manual tells you not to run out of fuel. Will find out what to do if this happens. Now for some good news, stopped at a lake to show my riding friends where the the refuge once stood and they asked me to drag run my sled, I chuckled and agreed thinking I didn't stand a chance. Lined up against a 2004 ZR 900 and a 2006 Sabercat 700 EXT, both took me off the line, but I walked past the 700 and was catching the 900 but ran out of lake. Don't know if I would have past him but was only 30' back on a short lake, 96 mph impressed everybody. Next day on the mauricie river 102 mhp and still more to go. Still not happy with all the problems, not like polaris. I have several 1st year polaris's and only one warrentee problem (RXL computer). I already have 3 problems and it's not a month old and approx. 700 miles. I would like to see polaris step up to plate and give us a 4 year warrentee if we are to be there R&D team, a $50.00 fuel card doesn't cut it and if you have a good product this will cost you nothing and give us fst owners some peace of mind.

I just bought a holdover FST Classic, and can't wait to ride it. How does the longer M-10 perform? I also heard that the reverse problem was fixed, no more popping out of gear? It sounds like an awesome sled from what I've read here and in the magazines!
