where is the idle adjustment located on a 99 xlt sp

Go to the Polaris/Victory Online Parts Catalog

and bring up the SNO 1999 XLT SP

and then open the first CARBURETOR diagram.
Key 10, next to the PTO carburetor is the idle stop/idle speed adjuster screw for the rack. After adjusting it, make sure you also adjust the tension on the throttle cable so that there is a little slack up at the thumb throttle on the handlebar.

now open the second CARBURETOR diagram.
Key 26 is the ADJUSTER screw for the Fuel Mixture.
The idle mixture adjustment is done thru a Fuel Screw on each carburetor. Keep them synchronized.

i tryed what you said it didnt seem like it made any differance its idleing at around 4000 rpm. when i first start it it will idle around 1500 then when i touch the throttle it jumps up to around 4000 goes as far as engauging the cluch then stays at 4000rpm. i choke it and it goes down to 2000 then flip the choke off and goes back up to 4000 i dont know if there is something sticking in the carbs or whats going on. the other night when i started it cold it was idleing at around 1500 and i choked it and it went up to 4000 flipped the choke off it went down to 2000 now all of a sudden its doing the oppiste any ideas anyone?
